How much does a farm cold storage room cost?
As a planning range: 3 pyeong about ₩6.5M–9M, 5 pyeong ₩11M–17M, 10 pyeong ₩25M–38M or more. Electrical work, foundations and contracted power can push costs higher.
What is the monthly electricity bill?
Using the KEPCO agricultural (B) low-voltage tariff of ₩1150/kW and ₩65.9/kWh, a 5 pyeong room at normal use comes to about ₩39,065 a month before VAT and other charges.
How does the subsidy work?
Local governments often cover part of the cost, commonly around half, with eligibility and contractor rules. Enter your expected subsidy rate to see your own share.
Can I store different crops together?
Not always. Apples and pears give off ethylene, which softens persimmons and makes carrots bitter. Crops needing 0℃ and crops needing 7–15℃ also cannot share one room.
